this is Lorenzo Ghiberti
born in Florence and trained as a goldsmith.he is one of the most important bronze sculptors of the renaissance. he won the commission's for the doors in the baptistery in Florence in which in 14 blocks he tells the story of the church. he made 3 sets of this huge doors. he earned respect from other great artists including Michelangelo. unfortunately because mys work was made to be of used and is exposed to the elements many of his relief have been worn down. so you cant see them in their splendor. but still the amount of detail in which they where made is extraordinary.
