a revolucionary idea a school for woman......
this is Jean-Baptiste Santierre
of French nacionality born in 1658 he founded in Versallies a drawing academy for woman.
he is known for his nudes and portraits. some of his works are in the Louvre and the Hermitage.
i like his style but i dont see anything that would seperate him from other painters. i do admire the courage to create an all girl school.but as it happens frequently i might just be un informed, if you like him or would like to tell me more about him, don't be afraid to send a comment
